No. It is part of China.
Thanks for that. We agree on something

No. Respected by every world leader except one.
Sorry, he is only respected by Richard Gere - if you can call it that. Apparently there is video of them sharing a bed together, doing horrid unspeakable things.

The end began in 1949
Sure, the end of feudal serfdom and slavery. The beginning of dignity for the Tibetan people, the beginning of modernization - as Chairman Mao said "the Chinese people have stood up!"

Thanks for the birthday felicitation.

MW -

"Tibet belongs to China"

No. It is part of China.

"the Tibetan people are Chinese"

Yes, insofar as they are of Sino-Tibetan origin. But ask them if they consider themselves to be Chinese and you might get a different answer.

"the Dalai Lama is a fraud"

No. Respected by every world leader except one.

"End of story"

The end began in 1949 - happy birthday PRC, btw. Such a young country!

This topic has been done to death. Tibet belongs to China, the Tibetan people are Chinese and the Dalai Lama is a fraud. The first two points, virtually the entire world, and all the West, accepts. The last one more and more people are coming round to accept.
End of story.

Veracity - thanks for dropping by.

I think we need to be careful about painting any ethnic group with a 'one size fits all' brushstroke. However, the Chinese government, despite claims of preferential treatment of minorities, are clearly adopting policies designed to strengthen the regional influences of the majority Han.
