Great picture; great goal

Not obviously China-related, except the Chinese love to watch the English Premier League and this story involves a young sportsman not telling us he’s older than he really is. I’m not a huge fan of football these days and I swear allegiance to no tribe. But I love this picture, lifted from the Timesonline sports section, for capturing perfectly the moment when a 17-year-old Italian, making his first-team debut, struck in injury time to score the winner as Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-2 yesterday afternoon.

His name is Federico Macheda; expect to hear more about the boy. Wile we’re about it, where the hell is China’s young footballing talent? They must be out there somewhere.

maybe once the season is over they will admit that the italian kid is actually a grown up troll.
